ASG member listed as 9th most wanted in Tawi-Tawi arrested

Authorities have arrested an Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) bandit listed as the ninth most wanted person in Tawi-Tawi province, a police official said Thursday. Lt. Col. Christian Joy Alqueza, provincial police mobile force company commander, said Tato Datu Andingih was arrested in an operation around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Barangay Maraning in Languyan town, Tawi-Tawi. Alqueza said Andingih has a standing arrest warrant for murder and was involved in several killings in Sitio Gata, Barangay Buan, Panglima Sugala town. He was a follower of the late ASG leaders Jul Asman Sawadjaan and Majan Sahidjuan. The two ASG leaders were killed in a clash with government troops in Languyan. Alqueza said the suspect is also involved in the illegal drug trade supplying to fishermen and young individuals in Languyan. Andingih was placed under the custody of the Anti-Kidnapping Group-Mindanao field unit for documentation and proper disposition. Meanwhile, Zamboanga Sibugay’s most wanted person was also arrested by policemen in a manhunt operation in Barangay Alang-Alang, Borongan City, Eastern Samar province. Col. Eduard Mallo, Zamboanga Sibugay police director, said Manuel Sujetado, 22, a driver, was arrested around 2:25 p.m. Wednesday. Mallo said Sujetado has a standing arrest warrant for murder with no recommended bail issued by a court of Ipil town, Zamboanga Sibugay province in December last year.
