His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in a titah stresses that supplication and halal food should be handled in a transparent, courageous and trustworthy manner, guided by syarak law. Hence, His Majesty continuously reminds all parties entrusted to ensure the halal status of food to properly carry out their duties, guided and holding fast to syarak law, and not through being considerate by easing the law. His Majesty stresses the matter in a titah at the Final of the National Musabaqah Al-Quran Reading for Adults 1444 Hijrah / 2023. The Monarch in the titah says that Al-Qur’an, acts as a guidance and blessing for mankind to be taken away from deviation and onto the right path, as in Surah Yunos, verse 57, “O humanity! Indeed, there has come to you a warning from your Lord, a cure for what is in the hearts, a guide, and a mercy for the believers.”
