At the same media conference, the Minister of Health shared that on the 2nd of October 2021, 9,017 people had received the COVID-19 vaccine injection.

This shows that under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, 302,258 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, which is 66.6 per cent of the country’s total population. Meanwhile, 199,576 people have completed the second dose which is 44 per cent of the total population. With the grace of Allah, the Government’s efforts to increase the vaccination rate through the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19 has shown an increase, in which the country’s vaccination rate is currently above the world rate. However there is still a need to step up efforts in achieving the target of at least 80 percent of the population having completed 2 doses of COVID-19 vaccination before the end of 2021.
