The Muallafpreneurs consortium through the Islamic Da’wah Center, Ministry of Religious Affairs with the support of Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam BIBD held the Souq Al-Qudwah 2.0 Expo. The expo was held to provide a sales network platform and market strategy as well as to developed the self-esteem and identity capacity in empowering self-employment among the target community, specifically the asnaf muallaf as well as other tithe recipients such as the Poor and Destitute. The launching took place yesterday afternoon at the Airport Mall in Berakas.

It was launched by Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs; Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Minister of Home Affairs; Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy.

Awang Haji Abd Rajid bin Haji Mohd Salleh, Director of the Islamic Da’wah Center as the Co -Chairman of the Expo in his speech said, the expo emphasized the concept of mind-set change among zakat and welfare recipients so that they do not fully depend on the tithe money distribution and welfare assistance.

The event continues with the Presentation of Basic Fardhu Ain Guidance book from Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam BIBD. The expo runs until this Sunday, from 10 in the morning until 10 in the evening.
