ANKARA: At least 11 people were killed and 14 others went missing as heavy rains and flood hit the Liaoning province in northeastern China, state-run media said on Friday. Heavy rains that caused floods in Huludao in the coastal province also affected thousands of people in the region, state outlet Global Times reported. So far, 188,757 people have been affected, with about USD1.45 billion in damage to infrastructure. Rescue officials were reportedly struggling to evacuate affected people to safe places. On Thursday, massive rains and flooding also disrupted rail service and flights in China's economic powerhouse Guangdong province, and authorities evacuated more than 86,000 people to safety.
