Kazan: The 15th Session of the General Conference of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) recently took place in Kazan, Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation. The session gathered Member States to discuss strategic directions, review the organization's programs and achievements, and approve future initiatives in education, science, culture, and communication.
According to Radio Television Brunei, Brunei Darussalam was represented by the Permanent Secretary for Higher Education, Ministry of Education. He attended as the representative of the Minister of Education and Chair for the National Commission of Brunei Darussalam for ICESCO. In his statement, Doctor Haji Azman bin Ahmad emphasized the alignment between ICESCO's Strategic Action Plan and Brunei Darussalam's national development priorities. The focus was on advancing future-ready education, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, cultural preservation, youth development, and social inclusion. These priorities mirror the aspirations of both Brunei Darussalam and ICESCO to nurture resilient, innovative, and values-driven societies.
Doctor Haji Azman also participated in the Opening Ceremony of the 'Kazan - Cultural Capital of the Islamic World 2026' held at the Kazan International Exhibition Centre.
