Bandar seri begawan: Brunei Darussalam is currently experiencing the second phase of the Northeast Monsoon, characterized by a generally stable atmospheric condition with reduced rainfall activity. However, due to a North-easterly surge and a low-pressure area near the region, there is an enhancement in the development of active rain clouds, leading to increased heavy rainfall occurrences.
According to Radio Television Brunei, active weather conditions are anticipated to continue until the 25th of February. Several areas across the country are expected to experience showers that are occasionally heavy and thundery, accompanied by wind gusts reaching up to 45 kilometres per hour during or near such weather events. While sea conditions are generally slight to moderate, with wave heights ranging from 0.6 to 1.5 metres, the public is advised to exercise caution due to the predicted active weather conditions. There is a significant risk of flash floods, landslides, fallen trees, and blown-off roofs during heavy showers and gusty conditions. Additionally, sea conditions pose a danger to small boat operations, sea recreational activities, and sports.
