ASEAN+3 Finance Ministers’ Meeting Highlights Pro-Growth Policies

Samarkand: Brunei Darussalam sustains its efforts in pursuing pro-growth policies whilst strengthening prioritising fiscal sustainability that will collectively support economic resilience and intergenerational equity in monitoring the impacts of these global development to the domestic economy. The Acting Permanent Secretary for Fiscal One at the Ministry of Finance and Economy stated this while attending the ASEAN+3 Finance Minister's and Central Bank Governors' Meeting.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the meeting was attended by Awang Haji Asrul Adrain bin Pehin Orang Kaya Setia Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Ahmad at Samarkand, Uzbekistan. Apart from discussing the global and regional financial and economic developments, the annual meeting also focused on progressing the ASEAN+3 financial cooperation such as the Chiang Mai Initiative Multi-lateralization.

The Acting Permanent Secretary for Fiscal One at the Ministry of Finance and Economy also attended the 59th Asian Development Bank Board of Governors Annual Meeting. Under the theme 'Crossroads of Progress: Advancing the Region's Connected Future', key discussions at the Annual Meeting focused on connectivity, digital innovation in finance as the region strives for resilient and sustainable growth. During the Business Session of the Asian Development Bank Board of Governors Annual Meeting, discussions were centred around ways to advance practical solutions to regional connectivity, digital innovation and development finance.
