His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam this afternoon received in audience His Excellency Han Zheng, Vice-President of the People’s Republic of China. The ceremony took place at Istana Nurul Iman. The visit marks His Excellency’s first official visit to Brunei Darussalam since his appointment as the Vice-President of the People’s Republic of China, which will further reaffirm the close and friendly relationship between the two countries.

At the Audience Ceremony, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and His Excellency discussed extensively on the excellent state of bilateral relations between Brunei Darussalam and the People’s Republic of China particularly in the areas of trade and investment, energy, agriculture and people-to-people exchanges. Touching on regional and international matters of mutual importance, His Majesty and His Excelle
ncy also agreed on the need to work closely together for the shared benefit of the two countries.
