Bandar seri begawan: Brunei Darussalam has set its sights on achieving a target of 38,000 tonnes in air cargo movement by 2030. The announcement was made during the opening of the Brunei International Airport Cargo Centre (BIACC) Trade and Logistics Expo 2026. The Minister of Transport and Infocommunications emphasized the need for industry players, entrepreneurs, and policymakers to capitalize on the country's geographical position to enhance transport connectivity and transform transit hubs and warehouses into catalysts for local jobs and economic growth. Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha highlighted the importance of transitioning from being consumers to active participants in the logistics sector.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the expo, which spans two days, includes a series of dialogues and thematic forums. These sessions cover essential topics such as logistics connectivity, e-commerce and digital trade, the future of logistics human capital, environmental sustainability in logistics, and operational perspectives across the supply chain.
