Bandar seri begawan: The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for November 2025 experienced a slight decrease of 0.1% compared to November 2024. This change was primarily influenced by a 0.2% reduction in the Non-Food index, while the Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages index noted a rise of 0.4%. According to Radio Television Brunei, the dip in the Non-Food index was largely attributed to a fall in prices of Miscellaneous Goods and Services, notably insurance costs; Clothing and Footwear; and Recreation and Culture, with a focus on holiday package prices. In contrast, the increase in the Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages index was driven by higher prices of Fruits, especially fresh non-tropical varieties; Fish and Seafood, particularly fresh fish; and categories such as Coffee, Tea, and Cocoa. On a month-on-month basis, the CPI in November 2025 rose by 0.1% compared to October 2025. This was due to an uptick in the Non-Food index, whereas the Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages index saw a decline. The increase in the Non- Food index was led by rising prices in Clothing and Footwear, Transport, and Recreation and Culture. Meanwhile, the drop in the Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages index was driven by falling prices of Vegetables, Meat, and Coffee, Tea, and Cocoa.
