COVID-19 Media Conference


The number of COVID-19 cases reported in Brunei Darussalam shows a slight increase from the previous week, with the average daily rate of cases at 388 cases per day last week, compared to 307 cases per day in the previous week. 40,321 ART results were uploaded to the BruHealth app within one week, of which 6.7 percent were positive. The Minister of Health during the COVID-19 Media Conference yesterday afternoon at Dewan Al-Afiah, Ministry of Health stated there is no case in category 4 and 5. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Md Isham bin Haji Jaafar also shared the rate of vaccination coverage of COVID-19 in the country remains at a high level with 78.6 percent of all citizens and residents have received the third dose of the vaccine and 10.7 percent also have received the fourth dose.

 

417 new cases have been reported, of which 414 cases are the result of ART and 3 cases are the result of 123 RT-PCR laboratory tests. Meanwhile, epidemiological monitoring found that the number of Influenza cases and Influenza-like infections showed an increase in the past week where the total number of Influenza cases was as many as 833 cases. This number exceeds the number of cases in February to March and June to July this year which is between 5,000 to 6,000 cases per week.
