DAVAO CITY - Acting Davao City Police Office (DCPO) director, Col. Hansel Marantan, called on members of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) who claim to be victims of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy's alleged abuses to come forward and speak out. In a press conference at the DCPO headquarters Thursday, Marantan bared that five underage female members of the KOJC Pastoral Community have accused Quiboloy of raping them. 'You have seen how determined we were in enforcing the warrant of arrest to advance your cause. Sorry if we came in late, but we are here, and you have to come out to the open,' Marantan said, assuring the victims they should not be afraid. He said he believes the statements from the young girls are credible, adding that they personally disclosed to him the sexual abuses Quiboloy allegedly committed against them. "I have interviewed two of the girls in person, and the other three through video calls,' Marantan said. He said the victims claimed Quiboloy threatened them with the "angels of death" if they revealed the alleged abuse. To ensure their safety, Marantan said the DCPO plans to transfer the victims to a safe house in Manila, as they fear remaining in Davao City. Meanwhile, KOJC legal counsel lawyer Israelito Torreon, in a message to the media, said he still needs to verify the information disclosed by Marantan. He added that he is unaware of the identities of the five young victims. "I cannot speculate whether their claims are true or merely fabricated to further damage Pastor Quiboloy's reputation. I pray that the police will handle the investigation of these new alleged cases with care and professionalism,' Torreon said. Source: Philippines News agency
