Anti-illegal drug agents arrested an ex-convict and confiscated PHP1.7 million worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust in Barangay Camanjac of this capital city early Friday.
Lt. Stephen Polinar, spokesperson of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO), said the suspect is a 57-year-old male from Purok 7, Barangay Boloc-boloc, in nearby Sibulan town.
The suspect yielded more or less 250 grams of suspected shabu during a buy-bust in Purok Makugihon, Barangay Camanjac around 3 a.m.
He was tagged as a high-value individual.
He had already served 12 years for a drug case and returned to Negros Oriental after his release in 2017.
Police records showed that he was arrested in this city in 2005 and spent six years at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology detention and rehabilitation facility here and completed his sentence at a prison facility in Mindoro.
