Kazan: His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, is scheduled to attend the ASEAN-Russia Commemorative Summit in Kazan, Russian Federation, from 17th to 18th June 2026.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the Commemorative Summit marks the 35th anniversary of ASEAN-Russia Relations. It will be co-chaired by His Excellency Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., President of the Republic of the Philippines and Chair of ASEAN for the year, alongside His Excellency Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation. The summit will gather His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam along with other ASEAN Leaders.

The summit aims to review the progress made under the ASEAN-Russia Comprehensive Plan of Action (CPA) for 2021 - 2025. It will also focus on charting the future course for cooperation and renewing the commitment to strengthening the ASEAN-Russia Strategic Partnership.
