Two Indonesians were sentenced under the Immigration Act, Chapter 17.
Muhammad Mughni was sentenced for overstaying in the country after his immigration pass had expired. The accused was sentenced to 8 months imprisonment and 3 strokes of whipping. The case was the result from Operasi Kabat carried out at Sungai Tujoh Immigration Control Post, Kuala Belait.
Meanwhile, Tia Amanda was sentenced to 5 months imprisonment for overstaying in the country after her immigration pass had expired. The case was found during Operasi Bersepadu of the Religious Enforcement Division with related agencies namely the Department of Immigration and National Registration and the Royal Brunei Police Force which has been carried out at various rented rooms in Mukim Kilanas.
