Indonesian Woman Sentenced for Immigration Violation

Bandar seri begawan: An Indonesian woman, Evi Nurlaela, aged 49, has been sentenced to five months imprisonment after being found guilty under Section 15 bracket 1 of the Immigration Act Chapter 17. She was charged with overstaying in the country after her immigration pass had expired. The sentence commenced on 7th April 2026.

According to Radio Television Brunei, Evi Nurlaela pleaded guilty to the charge. Her violation of immigration laws led to legal proceedings, resulting in her prison sentence. The case highlights the enforcement of immigration regulations in the country.
