MANILA: Transport network vehicle service (TNVS) company inDrive launched a campaign Tuesday to boost its presence in the country by waiving its commission for now and increasing the revenues of drivers. During a press conference at the inDrive headquarters in Quezon City, marketing director for Asia Pacific Natalia Makarenko said the commission has been waived in all rides made through its platform, offering 100 percent revenue to driver-partners. 'We still have zero percent commission and we don't have exact plans yet when to collect 10 percent commission,' Makarenko said. Other TNVS companies collect around 20 percent commission for every ride and have their drivers/operators cover the 20 percent discount for students, seniors and persons with disabilities from their cut. Laban TNVS president Jun de Leon said drivers also have to pay their operators a boundary or a fixed fee, further limiting their earnings. 'Ang kita ng mga TNVS drivers ay hindi na sapat (TNVS drivers are not earning enough anymore), ' De Leon said. He encouraged TNVS drivers to switch to inDrive and enjoy 100 percent revenue. He added that the planned 10 percent commission of inDrive is also much less than its competitors. 'Panahon na po para kumita naman ang mga driver. Hindi dapat parang kabayo o kalabaw (It is time for drivers to earn. You should not be working like farm animals),' he said. The company's waiving of commission is part of its Ka-gulong, Kita Tayo! campaign, a community-centric program that seeks to increase its drivers and users by offering fair profits, a platform to air drivers concerns and community service programs. To date, inDrive provides services in Metro Manila, Bacolod, Baguio, Iloilo, Butuan and Cagayan de Oro with an estimated 8,000 driver-partners. The company has plans to expand its operations to Cebu, Davao and Pampanga. Source: Philippines News Agency
