Contemporary issues of the Muslim ummah in the current COVID-19 situation are discussed during the International Seminar on Islamic Law in Contemporary Society 2021, ISLAC 2021 via online. The seminar was organized by the Faculty of Shariah and Law, Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University UNISSA in collaboration with the Faculty of Islamic Contemporary Studies, Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin, UniSZA, Malaysia.
Among those participating was Doctor Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal, Rector of UNISSA. Carrying the theme ‘Universality of Islamic Law in Dealing with COVID-19 Pandemic and the New Normal’, the seminar shared research results and findings of academics, Islamic scholars and industry players who can spark new ideas in resolving and empowering Islamic law in pre and post COVID-19 situations.
