Bandar seri begawan: The Islamic Architecture Symposium 2026 was officially inaugurated at the Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, aligning with the core goals of the Brunei Mid-Year Conference and Exhibition, MYCE 2026. The event aims to foster knowledge sharing, brainstorming, and networking among local and international scholars. The Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies and Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry underscored the symposium's theme, 'Barakah Dalam Bangunan: Amalan Seni Bina dan Kelestarian di Negara Brunei Darussalam,' emphasizing the need for development that is not only rapid but also principled and identity-driven, yielding lasting benefits. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin delivered the keynote address at the symposium's opening ceremony.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the symposium featured a keynote presentation titled 'Barakah- Guiding Architecture Beyond Form,' presented by Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Marzuke bin Haji Mohsin from Eco Bumi and Partners and Chairman of Pertubuhan Ukur, Jurutera dan Arkitek, PUJA. The symposium, which runs until June 14, is organized by Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah in strategic collaboration with the Ministry of Development, Universiti Brunei Darussalam, Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University, and Universiti Teknologi Brunei.
