Islamic Solidarity Games Conclude with Official Ceremony in Riyadh

Riyadh: His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah Ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, President of the Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council, attended the Official Closing Ceremony of the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games. The event was held at the Princess Nourah binti Abdulrahman University Stadium.

According to Radio Television Brunei, His Royal Highness engaged in discussions with Prince Fahad bin Jalawi, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games, as well as His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Minister of Sports of Saudi Arabia and President of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Association.

The Islamic Solidarity Games, conducted from November 7th to 21st, featured participation from over three thousand athletes representing 57 nations. Competitors took part in 23 sporting disciplines, with events spread across five main venues in Riyadh.

The official closing ceremony was marked by the reading of Al-Qur’an, a speech delivered by the Minister of Sports, the singing of the national anthem, a parade of contingents, and the ceremonial lowering of the Games’ flag.
