Kampung sungai tilong: The Embassy of Japan in the country organized a ceremony to present the Ambassador's Commendation to a local woman in recognition of her efforts in enhancing friendship and educational exchanges between Brunei and Japan. The event took place in Kampung Sungai Tilong on 13th February 2026.

According to Radio Television Brunei, Dayang Hajah Najmina Fairuz binti Haji Abd Latif, who is the President of the Brunei Association of Japan Alumni (BAJA), was awarded the commendation. The award was presented by His Excellency Kikuta Yutaka, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Brunei Darussalam.
