Joint Operation Targets Business Compliance in Pekan Seria

Pekan seria: A joint operation led by the Department of Economic Planning and Statistics (DEPS), through the Department of Consumer Affairs, in collaboration with the Weights and Measures Unit (SDT), Industry and Business Ecosystem Division, resulted in the issuance of two warning notices and one compound to business premises in Pekan Seria, Belait District.

According to Radio Television Brunei, two business premises were found to have violated the Price Control Act, Chapter 142. Syarikat Nazmul Sendirian Berhad received a compound of $500 BND for failing to display prices on several goods. Additionally, a total of two warning notices were issued to another business for selling price-controlled goods, specifically formulated powdered milk, above the maximum price and for displaying prices inconsistent with those in the counter payment system.

During the operation, fourteen units of weighing machines used for trading purposes were inspected and found to be verified, accurate, and registered.
