Kampung kapok: The spirit of teamwork was once again evident in Kampung Kapok as village residents came together to make preparations for the 'Makan Tahun' on the morning of December 25th, reflecting the strong solidarity within the community. The event saw participation from all levels of society, aimed at reviving an old tradition at risk of fading into obscurity, thereby strengthening ties between the older and younger generations and instilling a sense of togetherness.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the 'Makan Tahun' was organized by the members of the Bukit Tempayan Pisang Valley Communal Farm Cooperatives. This initiative was designed to rekindle long-standing traditions while emphasizing the unity and cooperation among the village community. The collaborative effort also highlighted the importance of preserving cultural heritage and fostering a sense of communal identity among residents.
