Bandar seri begawan: Themed "Building Community through Food and Heritage", the recently launched Kedai Kampung aims to be a one-stop shop in showcasing products and services from Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, including products produced by Mukim and Village Consultative Councils. The shop which is located in the Dewan Muhibbah Canteen, Brunei Muara District Office, also serves village cuisine and markets One Village, One Product, 1K1P.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the Kedai Kampung is conducted by the Kampung Kasat Consultative Council and serves as a local economic centre. It is hoped that this initiative will inspire locals to actively participate in economic development at the district level, aligning with the shop's theme.
The potential to combine 1K1P products under one roof makes it easier for consumers and tourists to obtain local products. This initiative not only aims to generate the local economy but also seeks to stimulate community activities.
The establishment of the Kedai Kampung is seen as a beneficial platform for the community, providing both economic opportunities and a space for community engagement.
