Bandar seri begawan: A local man was charged under the Excise Order 2006 for possessing customs contraband. Mohammad Syafiq Safwan bin Mohammad Jafar was found guilty of possessing 53 cartons and 1 packet of cigarettes of various brands and vape at a house in RPN Kampung Panchor Mengkubau.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the accused pleaded guilty and was fined BND42,600 or 14 months imprisonment in default. All the contraband were seized to be destroyed.
