Local Woman Conquers 15 Peaks, Including Everest Base Camp

Bandar seri begawan: While adventurous activities like mountain climbing are often associated with men, a local woman’s extraordinary passion and determination have led her to conquer some of the highest peaks in Asia and the world.

According to Radio Television Brunei, Dayang Hajah Zubaidah binti Haji Saidin, 45, embarked on her journey into the world of mountaineering in 2018 and has since conquered an impressive 15 mountains. From the heights of Mount Kinabalu and Rinjani to the slopes of Fuji, she has also faced the ultimate test: the Everest Base Camp in Nepal. Dayang Hajah Zubaidah reveals that her passion for mountaineering ignited from a desire to shatter stereotypes, proving that women are just as capable of tackling extreme challenges as anyone else.

Dayang Hajah Zubaidah emphasised the significance of thorough preparation before embarking on a mountain climbing adventure. She notes that it’s not just about physical strength, but also about sharpening mental and emotional resilience.
