BUTUAN: A resident from Marawi City was caught with PHP6.8 million worth of ‘shabu’ in a drug sting operation by the Butuan City Police Office (BCPO) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), a police official here said Tuesday.

In a report, BCPO chief Col. Marco Archinue said ‘Meme,’ 34, of Barangay Kainodan, Marawi City, is considered a high-value individual and has been a subject of surveillance by authorities for months.

‘(The suspect) was arrested in a well-coordinated operation conducted by the different units in Purok 15, Barangay Doongan, Butuan City on Monday,’ he said, adding that the suspect yielded more than a kilo of shabu.

Archinue said the operation was witnessed by the officials of Barangay Doongan, representatives from other government agencies, and the media.

“This operation exemplifies our relentless pursuit of justice and our dedication to combating drug-related crime in our community,’ he said.
