Media Conference on COVID-19


The number of reported cases of COVID-19 in Brunei Darussalam shows a slight increase where the average daily rate of cases last week was 649 cases per day, compared to 611 cases per day in the previous week. A total of 54,880 ART test results were uploaded to the BruHealth application within one week of which 8.2% were positive ART test results.

 

The Minister of Health during the COVID-19 Media Conference yesterday afternoon also stated that 3 cases are Category 5, 2 cases in Category 4 and 1 COVID-19 case has passed away, where the case is categorised as death not due to COVID-19. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar also shared the rate of vaccination coverage of COVID-19 in the country remains at a high level with 78.8% of all citizens and residents of the country having received the third dose of the vaccine and 11.1% also having received the fourth dose.

 

A total of 702 new cases have been reported, of which 693 cases are the result of ART tests and 9 cases are the result of 91 RT-PCR laboratory tests that have been performed in the past 24 hours. Meanwhile, the trend of Influenza cases and Influenza-like Illness, ILI in the past week continues to decrease. The public is reminded to remain vigilant and take preventive measures such as self-isolating if experiencing signs of infection and avoiding crowded places. See a doctor immediately if signs of infection persist or worsen. Get the Influenza vaccination, especially for those over the age of 60 years old and those with health problems.
