Bandar Seri Begawan: More than 5,940 kilogrammes of waste was successfully collected in the Nationwide Beach Coastal Cleaning Campaign involving eleven beaches in Brunei Muara District, Belait District, and Tutong District. Dubbed ‘COASTAL MARVEL’, the campaign was organised by the Ministry of Defence in conjunction with the 2024 Earth Day Celebration on 13th November 2024.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the launching was officiated by the Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Defence at Jerudong Beach. During the campaign, Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof handed over recycling bins to Awang Mohammad Sofian bin Haji Basri, Acting Brunei Muara District Officer. This act symbolized the importance of cleanliness in preserving environmental sustainability and reducing marine ecosystem pollution.
