‘OKU Serlahkan Bakatmu’ Programme Showcases Talent of Persons with Disabilities

Berakas: The Department of Community Development, JAPEM, through its People with Disabilities Division, in collaboration with strategic partners, organized the Final Competition and Event for the People with Disabilities, OKU Serlahkan Bakatmu 2025. The event was held in conjunction with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities at a shopping mall in Berakas, providing an inclusive platform for individuals with disabilities to showcase their talents in singing, dancing, music, and creative arts.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the event was organized in collaboration with the Culture and Arts Division of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, along with Radio Televisyen Brunei (RTB) and Revolution Records. The aim was to foster self-confidence, enhance communication skills, and develop the capabilities of the participants. The event was graced by Dayang Hajah Nor Ashikin binti Haji Johari, Permanent Secretary for Community at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, who witnessed the special performance of the theme song and presented prizes to the winners.

Earlier in the day, the Final Competition took place, featuring 11 participants competing in two categories. The event was also attended by Dayang Fauziah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, Acting Director of JAPEM, highlighting the ongoing commitment to empowering people with disabilities through creative expression and public performance.
