Kampung sungai akar: The existence of the Brunei Malay Teachers Association, PGGMB, as a social welfare organization, particularly for teachers through its Malay Teachers Iktisad Programme, has fostered a moderate mindset among its members and the public. The Minister of Religious Affairs emphasized this during the Launching of the 75th PGGMB General Meeting, Administrative Session 2024-2025, held at PGGMB School in Kampung Sungai Akar.

According to Radio Television Brunei, Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin Bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman stated that PGGMB was historically among the Bruneian society members who approached issues with modesty and rationality, avoiding hasty reactions to challenges faced by Brunei at the time.

The event also featured the Presentation of the PGGMB Senior Member Award 2025, which marked the association’s 86th anniversary. The award was given to three members, alongside certificates of appreciation for former members of the 2022-2025 PGGMB Executive Committee. Additionally, Certificates and Prizes were presented to 15 Outstanding Students who excelled in the PSR Examination 2024.
