Rimba Secondary School Secures Two Bronze Medals at SEAMEO Young Scientists Programme

Penang: Rimba Secondary School achieved success by winning two bronze medals at the 14th Regional Congress Search for SEAMEO Young Scientists Programme, recently held in Penang, Malaysia.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the school's project titled 'RimbaScan: An AI Plant Assistant for Agriculture and Education' earned the bronze medals under the Special Award for the Application of STEM Concepts and Special Award for Commercial Potential categories. The event focused on Green Education, Environmental Awareness, Sustainability, Climate Change, and Entrepreneurial Thinking, aligning with Sustainable Development Goals and regional priorities.

The event saw participation from various schools, including two students from Maktab Sains Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan. The Ministry of Education coordinated the participation through the Science, Technology and Environment Partnership, STEP Centre, with SEAMEO RECSAM as the organiser.
