Seria Crude Oil Terminal (SCOT) Incident

Bandar seri begawan: The Department of Energy at the Prime Minister's Office has reported that the situation at the Seria Crude Oil Terminal (SCOT) is being managed actively, safely, and professionally following an incident. An overflow from the roof drain of Tank 4 was identified and promptly addressed by Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sendirian Berhad (BSP).

According to Radio Television Brunei, temporary traffic and access controls were implemented in the affected area as a precautionary measure to ensure public safety. Recovery operations are ongoing with the support of the Royal Brunei Police Force, who remain on site to provide assistance. The Department of Energy is collaborating closely with BSP, the Petroleum Authority of Brunei Darussalam, and the Safety, Health and Environment National Authority (SHENA) to manage the situation. All emergency response and safety protocols have been fully activated, ensuring that the situation remains stable and under control. Continuous monitoring is in place, taking into consideration the current weather conditions.
