Starting 12th of December 2022, the Service Charge via the Exit and Entry System, EES, Royal Customs and Excise Department for each vehicle travelling through all land control posts is updated according to specified rates. The new rate will be applied to all vehicles that pass through all land control posts whether they are Brunei Darussalam registered vehicles or foreign vehicles.
For vehicles with passengers not exceeding 7 people including the driver, a charge of $3 is imposed for one way travel. Vehicles with passengers exceeding 7 and up to 25 people including the driver, such as van or mini bus are charged $6. Meanwhile, vehicles with passengers more than 25 including the driver, namely buses are charged $10.
Meanwhile, Commercial vehicles which do not need to be inspected using the X-ray machine are charged $6, while those needing to be inspected using the X-ray machine are charged 10 dollars. The Service Charge will be exempted for pedestrians and vehicles namely Bicycles; Motorcycles; Vehicles owned by the Government of Brunei Darussalam or foreign Governments for official use; and Vehicles owned by Brunei Darussalam Government Officials or foreign Governments to carry out official duties.
To ensure that the cross-border journey through the land control post goes smoothly, the public are advised to make registration, application, payment of Service Charges through the EES system, login.bdnsw.gov.bn/ees/user/login and then get a QR code earlier before making the trip.
