The Storytelling Competition 2022 final was held yesterday morning, organised by the Language and Literature Bureau. 8 participants competed in the final which was held at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
Present was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. Two categories were competed namely the Malay Language category and the English category.
Awang Syed Harith bin Syed Rozman from Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Primary School won the Malay Language category, while Awang Muhammad Daniyal Mateen bin Awang Adris from the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Arabic School placed first in the English category. Apart from instilling the love for reading, the competition also aimed to train children to be brave in front of an audience, and make stories telling as a source of inspiration, imagination and creativity.
