Brunei Darussalam, 17th September 2024, experienced heavy rain accompanied by very strong gusts, causing fallen trees and flying roof incidents. Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department said occasional showers or thundershowers accompanied with gust is expected to occur in the next few days until 23rd September.
The highest gust wind speed recorded was 80 kilometres per hour at 2:30 in the afternoon at Meteorological Observation Station, Brunei International Airport. The affected areas were Brunei Muara District, Tutong District and Belait District. Members of the public, particularly road users are advised to take precautionary actions, especially when passing by the affected areas.
