Bandar seri begawan: His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, received Yang Berbahagia General Datuk Haji Malek Razak bin Sulaiman, Chief of the Defence Force, Malaysian Armed Forces, in an audience ceremony at Istana Nurul Iman on the afternoon of 5th May.

According to Radio Television Brunei, accompanying General Datuk Haji Malek Razak were His Excellency Datuk Mohd Aini bin Atan, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Brunei Darussalam, and senior officials from the Malaysian Armed Forces. The visit underscores the close and enduring defence relations between Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia. These relations have been strengthened by the Memorandum of Understanding on Defence Cooperation signed on 14th February 1992, as well as through ongoing defence cooperation across various multilateral platforms.
