Hanoi: On the sidelines of His Majesty’s State Visit to the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, three Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed to bolster collaboration in maritime and fisheries sectors. The agreements include the MoU on Maritime Cooperation, the MoU on Cooperation in Fisheries, and the MoU on the Use of Hotline for Information-Exchange to Address Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated Fishing.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the renewal of these MoUs aims to enhance the technical capacity of fisheries laboratories and add value to fisheries products to improve their competitiveness and expand export markets. The agreements also focus on enhancing the protection of fishing communities, promoting responsible fishing practices, and strengthening collaborative efforts among enforcement agencies.
