Tutong: The Tutong District Office has imposed a compound fine on Syarikat NUR HALIMA Sendirian Berhad for violating the Miscellaneous Offences Act 2021. The company was fined BND2,000 for the illegal disposal of construction waste and various types of garbage in public open areas. The company is required to settle the fine within seven days. According to Radio Television Brunei, failure to pay the fine could result in the company being brought to court. If found guilty, the company could face a fine ranging from BND2,000 to BND10,000. For second or subsequent offences, the penalties increase to a fine of not less than BND10,000 and not exceeding BND30,000, imprisonment for a period not exceeding 12 months, or both.
