15th Session of ICESCO General Conference Held in Kazan

Kazan: The 15th Session of the General Conference of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) was recently convened in Kazan, Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation. The session gathered Member States to discuss strategic directions, review the organization's programs and achievements, and approve future initiatives in education, science, culture, and communication.

According to Radio Television Brunei, Brunei Darussalam was represented by Doctor Haji Azman bin Ahmad, the Permanent Secretary for Higher Education at the Ministry of Education, who attended on behalf of the Minister of Education and as Chair for the National Commission of Brunei Darussalam for ICESCO. Doctor Haji Azman emphasized the alignment between the Strategic Action Plan and Brunei Darussalam's national development priorities, especially in advancing future-ready education, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, cultural preservation, youth development, and social inclusion. These priorities demonstrate Brunei Darussalam and ICESCO's ambition to foster resilient, innovative, and values-oriented societies.

Additionally, Doctor Haji Azman was present at the Opening Ceremony of the 'Kazan - Cultural Capital of the Islamic World 2026' at the Kazan International Exhibition Centre.
