AIPACODD Study Committee Convenes to Strengthen Transnational Crime Cooperation

Jakarta: The First Meeting of the Study Committee on the Transformation of AIPA Advisory Council on Dangerous Drugs (AIPACODD) for Enhanced Cooperation on Transnational Crimes was held at the ASEAN Headquarters in Jakarta, Indonesia. The meeting took place from January 28th until 29th.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the meeting was attended by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman, Member of the Legislative Council, representing his country. The discussions focused on transforming AIPACODD into a new mechanism to address issues related to transnational crime from strategic and value perspectives, and aligning with ASEAN's political security agenda.

The meeting featured presentation sessions by delegations from ASEAN countries and invited organizations, including the ASEAN Senior Officials on Drug Matters, United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, and United Nations Office of Counter Terrorism. The participants agreed on the need to strengthen the function of AIPA in addressing transnational crime issues. These outcomes will be further presented during the 47th AIPA General Assembly.
