Australian High Commissioner Presents ‘OBOE Endeavour’ Awards at RBAF

Tanah jambu: The 'OBOE Endeavour' award, commemorating the Australian Defence Force's contribution to the liberation of Borneo during World War II, was the focal point of a recent awards ceremony. This event not only celebrates a historical milestone but also marks the beginning of the defence relationship between Brunei Darussalam and Australia. His Excellency Michael Neil Hoy, the Australian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam, highlighted these points in his speech at the 'OBOE Endeavour Academic Excellence' Awards Ceremony held at the Defence Academy, Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF).

According to Radio Television Brunei, six officers from the RBAF were honored with the 'OBOE Endeavour' Award, a prestigious Academic Excellence Programme spearheaded by the Australian Government. This accolade is given to participants of the Command and Staff Course who have achieved commendable results. The programme aims to deepen the officers' understanding of Australia and its Defence Force, while also enhancing awareness of regional security interests. The ceremony was attended by Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Commander of RBAF, alongside other distinguished guests.
