CCBD Underscores Competition Principles in Public Procurement

Bandar seri begawan: The Competition Commission of Brunei Darussalam, CCBD, recently conducted a workshop related to synergy at the Ministry of Finance and Economy.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the workshop focused on competition principles that can support transparent, fair, and efficient public procurement systems. It addressed risks such as bid-rigging and collusion while promoting best value for public funds and a level playing field for suppliers.

The workshop is part of CCBD's ongoing efforts to strengthen understanding and cooperation between government agencies on competition-related issues. This initiative is crucial, as effective enforcement of competition laws and a robust procurement framework require a whole-of-government approach. The workshop further aims to reinforce inter-agency understanding and cooperation, recognizing the need for a comprehensive approach to ensure sound procurement practices and competition enforcement.
