Bandar seri begawan: Bilateral relations between Brunei Darussalam and the People’s Republic of China have long been established with cooperation efforts in sectors such as the economy and ports. This was emphasized during the Courtesy Call of the Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China, Peng Qinghua, to the Speaker of the Legislative Council.

According to Radio Television Brunei, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib, the Speaker of the Legislative Council, received the Courtesy Call from His Excellency Peng Qinghua at the Dewan Majlis Building, Department of Councils of State. During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on joint development efforts that support the aspirations of the China-Brunei Community with a Shared Future.

At the end of the meeting, both parties expressed their readiness to develop good cooperation between the Legislative Council and the National People’s Congress of the Republic of China. This is seen as a contribution to the continuation of mutually beneficial cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and China. The visit was a continuation of efforts to strengthen cooperative relations between legislative institutions, as well as to enhance the friendship and cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and the People’s Republic of China.
