Gadong: A reception was held to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, celebrating the enduring diplomatic relations between Brunei Darussalam and Laos. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1993, both nations have fostered a close and friendly relationship, characterized by frequent exchanges of visits between their leaders.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Laos to Brunei Darussalam emphasized the strong bilateral relations at the event, which took place at a hotel in Gadong on the night of December 8th. The ambassador highlighted the ongoing special relationship between the two countries.

Representing the government of His Majesty was Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Doctor Dayang Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Md. Salleh, Minister of Education. His Excellency Heuankeo Sangsomsak, in his speech, expressed confidence that the cooperation between Laos and Brunei will continue to prosper in the coming years.
