Deer Farm Set to Transform Into Major Agro-Tourism Hub

Kuala belait: The Deer Farm, under the ownership of Syarikat Mohamad Norfaidzal bin Haji Zainuddin dan anak-anak, is on the path to becoming a significant agro-tourism attraction in the country. Having been in operation since 2012, the farm has seen new management take over in the last 10 months, during which various improvements have been actively pursued.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the farm spans over 18 hectares and hosts approximately 400 deer, including species from Sabah and Australia, as well as smaller-sized deer. The Department of Agriculture is actively involved in monitoring the farm to maintain livestock health, particularly in disease prevention. The deer are primarily fed grass, supplemented with bread and rice bran to aid in habituation and fattening.

Currently, the farm remains closed to the public to facilitate infrastructure repairs. The owner aims to expand the deer population to between two thousand and three thousand, with plans to sell deer meat. This initiative is anticipated to generate job opportunities for locals and contribute significantly to the development of the country's agro-tourism sector.
