Bandar seri begawan: His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, hosted a significant diplomatic event at Istana Nurul Iman, presenting and receiving Letters of Credence. The ceremonies took place on the afternoon of May 12.
According to Radio Television Brunei, His Majesty first presented Letters of Credence to the newly-appointed Brunei envoys. These included His Excellency Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Pahlawan Retired Colonel Dato Paduka Haji Abdu'r Rahmani bin Dato Paduka Haji Basir, designated as High Commissioner to Malaysia; His Excellency Mohammad Shafiee bin Haji Kassim, appointed as Ambassador to Belgium; His Excellency Haji Khairur Rizal bin Haji Abdul Majid, named Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste; and Her Excellency Dayangku Nooraslena binti Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Sallehuddin, who will serve as High Commissioner to Australia.
His Majesty also received Letters of Credence from newly-appointed Foreign Envoys to Brunei Darussalam. These included His Excellency Abdulla Hamad A.A. Al-Marri, Ambassador of Qatar; His Excellency Saleh A.M. Alshiha, Ambassador of Saudi Arabia; His Excellency Akrapong Chalermnon, Ambassador of Thailand; His Excellency Yip Wei Kiat, High Commissioner of the Republic of Singapore; and His Excellency Nawaf Fahad Alsaied, Ambassador of Kuwait.
The ceremonies included an audience with the newly-appointed Brunei envoys and the Foreign Envoys to Brunei Darussalam. Attendees included prominent government officials such as Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd. Yusof, the Second Minister of Foreign Affairs; Dato Seri Paduka Awang Mohammed Riza bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohammed Yunos, Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister's Office; and other senior officials who played crucial roles in the diplomatic engagements.
