Islamic Architecture Symposium Highlights the Role of Architecture in Shaping Values

Bandar seri begawan: Architecture as a medium for shaping life values and its significance in Islam were key themes discussed during the second and third panel sessions of the Islamic Architecture Symposium 2026, held at Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.

According to Radio Television Brunei, Awang Haji Shamshol bin Haji Omar, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Policy and Religion at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, was present during the event. The symposium, themed "Sustainability as a Trust - Reshaping Sustainability", explored how architecture not only aligns with political and moral theories but also serves as a medium for the formation of values, inner well-being, and harmony in life.

The third panel session, attended by Awang Aliudin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Core Education at the Ministry of Education, focused on the topic "Built Expression: A Case Study of Legacy Life". Discussions emphasized the importance of Islamic architecture, the implementation of Mosque Construction Guidelines, and the concept of Barakah in construction.
