Hanoi: His Majesty attended a meeting with His Excellency Tran Thanh Man, Chairman of the National Assembly, at the National Assembly building. During the meeting, His Majesty emphasized the warm and close relations between Brunei Darussalam and the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, which have flourished since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1992. The cooperation between the two countries now spans various sectors such as trade and investment, energy, people-to-people exchanges, agriculture, aquaculture, and the halal industry.

According to Radio Television Brunei, His Majesty congratulated the National Assembly on its upcoming 80th anniversary in January next year and expressed satisfaction with the positive cooperation between the Legislative Council of Brunei Darussalam and the National Assembly of Viet Nam. Prior to the meeting, His Majesty was introduced to members of the National Assembly, and His Excellency Tran Thanh Man was introduced to members of the delegation from Brunei Darussalam.

His Majesty further noted that Viet Nam’s active participation in the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly is instrumental in ensuring that legislative cooperation will continue to strengthen, aligning with the common aspirations of regional parliaments.
